0 Conditional
If/ when +Present Simple, Present simple
Situations that are always true if something happens.
Ex: If I work too much I get tired.
First Conditional
IF/WHEN+ Present Simple, will+Verb (SIMPLE FORM)
Often called the "real" conditional because it is used for real - or possible - situations.
Ex: If she studies, she might get good grades.
Second Conditional
If +Past Simple, Past Continuous would/could/might+ Verb (SIMPLE FORM)
This conditional provides an imaginary result for a given situation.
The verb 'to be', when used in the 2nd conditional, is always conjugated as 'were'.
Ex: If I were going to buy a car, I would get insurance.
Third Conditional
If+ Past Perfect, would/could/might/ have+ PAST PARTICIPLE
Often referred to as the "past" conditional because it concerns only past situations with hypothetical results.
Ex: If I had found her address, I would have sent her an invitation.
I think conditional are a difficult subject because there are so many variables and sometimes is hard to remember which Is which, and remember the correct combination, here is a video that explain the subject, is a little long but it can be helpful:
