Before a hold process of searching what I was going to study I ended up here, at ULACIT. Nowadays I am studying advertising and I think I chose wisely. I enjoy my major and all that it demands, also I really like the kind of people in which I develop. Before start to studying I wanted something related with the film industry because I really like film, fortunately I won a scholarship in this university. As much of the people I have free time in which I don’t do anything related with my university life. People think in different ways when you talk about “free time”, some things about being on the beach or like for me it could be playing video games or even editing videos. Since I was 10 years old I started to play the drum set, now I give classes on Fridays, and I am Christian, so I play the drums every week in the church and doing all this is part of my free time.
As I was telling before, one of my favorite things to do when I have free time is playing video games, some people think that it is stupid but I will explain some reasons of why I play it. The first one is that it relax me, it makes me feel like if that is everything that matters in that moment; second, it makes me feel better with myself, because I play frequently, I am good in some games and it really entertains me. Third, it helps me to improve my creativity, I am a publicist so I need to be creative all the time. Fourth and the last one is that it helps me to think different from other people, it opens my mind to worlds that nobody sees in the normal life. My favorite game is call of duty, it is a game of war most of all. I can play this game all day but frequently I play it like 4 hours per week. Something that I really enjoy is that video games helps me to be closer to my family, it is really fun to play with all my cousins and it entertains us for a long time.
In my free time I also skate, I started skating through a friend of my dad that presented me the skates and I love it. I remember that when I started I skated every day, now I don’t have so much time. Normally people that start skating in roller skates stay in there, 2 years later that I learned how to skate I discovered the aggressive skate. It is not related with nothing violent if you think it. Aggressive skating is a form of inline skating, with focus on grinding and spins. When I heard this kind of skating I fell in love immediately, I started to practice a lot and I started to be good on that. For me it is not really difficult to skate, of course I am not that good like professional skaters that are competing in the x-games or something like that, but is not really difficult.
In my free time I pass lot of time watching movies, I am a fan of filming, so I really like to watch any kind of movies. In my life I have read a lot of film industry and something that I have that some people hate is that I know what is going next on a movie, I don’t know why but the movies that I normally don’t like are the ones that I can say: I know what is going to happen next. This movies are like really predictable and I criticize that very hard, also the shots, colors, acting and almost everything are facts that I criticize. In my life I have watched movies that are really good, one of those is call frequencies, what I like from movies is that when it is hard to understand. Frequencies is really hard to understand and they talk about the world, the frequencies that are in the air, it is related with this topics that you hear when you listen Stephen Hawking talking. Also I have other movies that for me are really good like Inception, Interstellar and little boy.
I am a fan of cars, in my life I have been surrounded by fast cars, because of my uncles and my brother. Karting is not like drive a real car but it resembles very much, I drove my first kart when I was 6 years old and I remember that it was a terrible experience. I was really little and when I went I was just thinking in pressing the pedals and that’s all, I didn’t pay attention to the indications that the staff told me. When I finished racing my father eas scolding me and I cried a lot. Above this I really like the experience so I started to save money to keep going to race. Now I really like going to race with my brother, me and him have the best time lap in the karts of palmares and we are one of the 10 better times in the karts of San Jose.
In addition to movies, I like videos, YouTube is part of free time, every day at night, before going to sleep I watch like 4 videos of blogs or gaming in YouTube. In spite of I am a fan of this page I don’t do videos for YouTube I like to make it but for increasing my ability on editing and recording. I can spent hours recording in my house or everywhere, even editing is part of my free time, I have been in front of a computer editing for 12 hours, just to make a video of 6 minutes. It is hard to record very good videos, not everything depends on the camera that you have, also it depends on your hands and how good you are with them. It requires a lot of time, you can be filming one shoot for more than an hour depending on the shot that you want. I have learn a lot of tips on recording or editing thanks to online tutorials.
The last thing that I consider important to mention on the activities that I do on my free time is playing the drums. I started to play the drums when I was 10 years old and for me is one of my favorite things to do. It really like me, I am a very hyperactive person and very stressful, it helps me to deal with this 2 behaviors. When I play the drums I feel free and I always want more and more, I remember that I have been playing almost for 4 followed hours. When I started to play the drums I didn’t have a drum set so I always play in my bedroom with pillows. It was at the age of 15 that my parents bought me a drum set and since I’ve had it and it is like the first day, really beautiful and perfect.
To finish I like to mention that I do more things on my free time, like watching T.V, going out with my friends, reading and having charity time with my family. Playing video games, skating, watching movies, karting, making videos, watching videos and playing the drums are my favorite activities. I feel really good when I have free time in which I know that I don’t have to make homework or something like that, I enjoy my life and I am living my dream that is be happy.
