In the active book we make a lot of exercises of writing. Every week the teacher leaves us homework on this book, sometimes only one or two pages but other times more than 5 pages, for me this helps me a lot on improving my writing skills. All the exercises make reference on a topic that we review in class so, while we learn how to write some topic like conditionals or the use of used to, the teacher explain us how to use the same topic but in a talk way.
